DLyte PRO500®AUTOMATED CELL is the ultimate solution for industries requiring full automation —or a multi-level DLyte process automation— to integrate surface finishing in production lines. It is formed by the polishing cell (DLyte PRO500®) and a loading mechanism which in turn comprises a robotic arm and a rotating module.

 

DLyte PRO500® AUTOMATED CELL does not only polish several simultaneous parts, but also automates the process of loading
and unloading the holders (loaded with the parts to polish) into and from the machine itself.

Layout
Loading/Unloading Station

The carousel is a steel structure in a square-shaped designed to hold up to 64 holders in total. It can pivot above its bedplate, stopping after each ¼ round to allow the robot to work on the holder rows.

TECHNOLOGY

With the disruptive DryLyte Technology

 DLyte systems combines the electrical flow created by a high-precision rectifier with movement of the pieces through the solid electropolishing media to remove roughness from the pieces.

Guarding

The front side is used to access the loading and unloading polishing parts. The front open fence (F) is protected with a safety light curtain. At the rear side (R), there is a hinge door with an Euchner safety lock.
This area is permanently locked and to be accessed only during maintenance.

Robot

The robotized arm is a standard Fanuc robot which loads and unloads holders (loaded with parts) from the carousel to the machine and vice versa.

Gripper

At the end of the robot, there is a double gripper, which can pivot on its base. It has been designed to hold two holders at once. By doubling the holders, the efficiency is increased, as the trips the robot needs to do from the carousel to the machine are reduced in half.

HMI Pole

The HMI Pole is located at the right front of the DLyte PRO500 Automated CELL, and it is able to mirror the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) of DLyte PRO Series, so that all functions can be managed from a single HMI out of the restricted area.

Scalability

The system allows users to meet the demanding productivity requirements in mass production. One single robot can load and unload pieces of two DLyte PRO500 machines increasing the output with an ultra low footprint.
